Dr. Creed S. Haymond was born in Verdun, France while his parents were serving in the US military. He was raised in Holladay, Utah. After graduating from Olympus High School, he served for two years as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He then attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate studies followed by his dental training at the University of Washington. In 1991, Dr. Haymond completed a four-year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington and affiliated hospitals, including fellowship level training in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Following his education, Dr. Haymond started a solo private practice in Sandy, Utah, where he has been practicing full-scope oral & maxillofacial surgery since 1991. He loves all aspects of oral & maxillofacial surgery and has always had a special interest in anesthesia, treating trauma and critically ill patients, facial reconstructive surgery, and dental implants. He has spent his entire career taking active trauma call for level I and level II trauma centers, including Intermountain Medical Center.

Dr. Haymond is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has served as the anesthesia chairman for the Utah Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons for many years, the medical staff President Elect at Alta View Hospital, and Chairman of the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Primary Children’s Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, as well as a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Additionally, Dr. Haymond holds professional memberships with the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Utah Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the Utah Dental Association.

Dr. Haymond has been involved with humanitarian work for over 25 years, serving in all the Central American countries and the Brazilian Amazon. He considers his work there one of the highlights of his life and career.

In Dr. Haymond’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelene, their 7 children and 17 grandchildren. He loves to travel, hunt, fish, scuba dive, hike, camp, ride motorcycles, ski, boat, and spend time at their cabin. He enjoys all these activities most of all when they’re done with his family. Dr. Haymond also enjoys football, basketball, and lacrosse, as well as going to the symphony, the theater, listening to all kinds of music and playing his guitar. A fun fact about Dr. Haymond is that he has lived in France, The Netherlands and Italy, and speaks fluent Italian!
